REACHING OUT INTO RICHARDSON AND BEYOND
FBCR members work with residents at Copper Creek, a predominantly Spanish speaking apartment community, teaching English as a second language (ESL) classes. We currently offer three different levels of classes and are always looking for additional volunteers. No experience is necessary and training is available for those interested.
With our Copper Creek Children program, FBCR works with Copper Creek, a predominantly Spanish speaking apartment community, to provide programming for children and youth on Saturday mornings. This program engages the children at Cooper Creek through a combination of Bible stories and music. Leadership opportunities are available for FBCR students and adults.
KID’S HOPE USA
A national organization, KIDS HOPE USA creates church-school partnerships that pair church members with at-risk children. FBCR members are matched with area children who are in need of supportive and mentoring relationships.
ADULTS ON MISSION
Adults on Mission meets the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall to learn, study, give and pray for missions.
FBCR’s International Friends program has been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to internationals who have moved to the Dallas community for more than 40 years. The largest ESL class in Texas, International Friends assists internationals as they adjust to life in the United States. Students in the program improve their conversational English, learn about American culture and share the Christian faith. International Friends meets Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. September through May.
BAPTIST STUDENT MINISTRIES
FBCR’s close proximity to the University of Texas at Dallas makes it easy to be involved in its Baptist Student Ministries program. There are a number of different volunteer opportunities and programs available.
