CHILDREN’S MINISTER

Tedye joined the staff at FBCR in 2002 as the preschool minister before transitioning to the Children’s Ministry in 2009.  Tedye has almost 30 years of experience working with and ministering to young children and their families. She also serves as the director of First Kids School, the part-time preschool program offered at FBCR.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Tedye has a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education from Texas Tech University.  While attending Tech, she taught preschool at First Baptist Church Lubbock and later served as the assistant director of its Child Development Center for nine years.  Tedye was on staff at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church for several years as the preschool minister, before extending her ministry to include Children’s Ministry.  Prior to joining FBCR, Tedye served as children’s minister of First Baptist Church of Allen for three and a half years.

In addition to ministering to preschoolers and children, Tedye has also has provided training to adults in the areas of early childhood development, Bible Study leadership and parenting.  She provides short-term and long-term consultation for churches, including training conferences and speaking to MOPS International (Mothers of Preschoolers).  Tedye has also written Bible Study curriculum for Baptistway Press.

PERSONAL

Tedye has been married to Tim Schuehler for more than 25 years.  Tim is a project manager for AT&T and serves in the Children’s Ministry with Tedye.  Tim and Tedye have two children, Jenna and Bren. 

Being a mom, educator and minister is Tedye’s life’s joy.  Tim and Tedye both enjoy making a positive difference in the lives of young families.
